The development of stretch film in China

In the 1990s, stretch film was introduced to China from Europe and the United States. At the end of 1997, a plastic material company took the lead in introducing professional equipment from abroad and began to produce stretch film. The stretch film began to grow in China as a large-scale processing product.
As of the end of the 1990s, China's stretch film market was less than 20,000 tons, mainly concentrated in foreign companies in Guangdong and Shanghai, of which 50% of stretch film was imported from Australia and Italy. At the beginning of 2000, domestic self-made stretch film equipment gradually developed. The investment threshold of less than RMB 60,000 attracted many manufacturers into the field of stretch film production, and the production scale of stretch film expanded rapidly.


The film produced by the stretch film manufacturer casting method has high transparency and is not discussed here. As the number of C-atoms of the comonomer of the material increases, the length of the branch increases, the crystallinity decreases, and the effect of the "coiling or kinking" of the resulting copolymer increases, so the elongation is improved, and the puncture strength and the tear strength are also improved.

By 2005, the output of China's stretch film exceeded 140,000 tons, which formed a situation in which several large factories and many small factories coexisted. In the early stage of stretch film wholesale LLDPE stretch film is more than blown film, from single layer to two or three layers; LLDPE stretch film is mainly produced by casting method. Shenzhen stretch film is usually used with MPE and C4-LLDPE, but not all C4-LLDPE can be matched with it. The machine stretch film is mostly made of C6 and C8 materials, which is easy to process and can meet various packaging requirements. Handmade packaging uses C4 material due to its low draw ratio.

From the introduction of the 1990s to the current production scale, stretch film has occupied a certain market in the country and played an important role.
